Latest Tevez Rumours

Transfer Speculation

A number of media outlets are bursting with the latest ‘Tevez speculation of the day’. Today’s rumour announces that Liverpool are poised to beat Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign Carlos Tevez, with The Reds on the verge of offering owner Kia Joorabchian £26 million and pay the striker £160,000 a week. The quotes have simply come from “a source” and say:

"It seems amazing that Liverpool have the money to do this when you consider their owners are looking for funds. But Spurs were told that Liverpool were going to get the deal done and that Tevez was very happy about it."

Manchester United Chief Executive Officer David Gill said earlier this week that the club wants to keep Tevez, and that a transfer fee of about £25 million is being discussed. Tevez’s economic rights are owned by businessman Kia Joorabchian, and the player has technically been on loan from his company for two seasons.
Today's Echo has played down the story by stating "Contrary to reports, Liverpool have made no offer for unsettled Manchester United striker Carlos Tevez."
